Pre-Alpha Screenshots

Picture 1: Example NPC

Greetings,

Here are some screen shots to give you some feel for what the game will look like. Please note that at the moment these are extremely young shots of the game, and may not reflect the final product. However, you can see what the engine graphics look like. The castle tower is the first object I've created as a test for Seven Swords.

Picture 2: Sunrise and Mob, along with custom object test

I didn't really take my time on it so you will understand if it looks kinda lame. I will take a bit more care in the future models to produce something respectable ;)

First town in the world of Baelis

Hello all,

The following is the first town in the world of Baelis, Aaerina. It will be the primary human capitol, and the starting place for the human race. It includes the following:

2 municipal buildings which will hold religious npc's and the guildmaster npc. You will be able to switch religions for donations of money. Some religions give bonuses and debuffs, and some require "expensive" donations more than others. Other games have implimented religion, but not a real floating religion scheme. I found this to be a pretty cool idea, so I am going to impliment it. The other building, town hall, will allow players to create their own guilds once they receive 5 people (including themselves) to sign a petition. For now the religion and guilds system hasn't been fully developed, but more will come as soon as I get more time to work things out in that regard.

Numberous trainers will be in this city. Only the classes that humans can be however. This is dependant on what classes I want to have for the human race, and will not be released at this time.

Several trade tents will be in the market area, these will compose of various rare goods and items that newer players will most likely need. There will possibly be a need for other items at higher levels to cast or create new spells. Not decided yet.

NPC homes will be random npc's that may or may not serve a greater purpose. ie. Quests.

Next is the general store, which will be slightly more expensive but have more items for sale. More details later.

Lastly, we have our graveyard. Certain classes may aquire bonuses from these (darker classes). More than likely necromancers will have to find a graveyard to summon the dead. Guards (depending on the alignment) will react to these creations and their masters in different ways.

The image above is a very rough layout of the town.

MySQL

We now have the MySQL integrated with the game server.

This will allow us to create accounts online, and allow for custom things to be created in game (guilds and etc).

I look forward to working with this huge feature.

More screenshots to come soon.

Welcome

I have been developing a new game using an interesting game creation suite. Yes, I decided to take the cheaper and less difficult route for now. It will allow me to create a base game, that later, if I decided to pursue, will be easy to implement with my own code.

The game will be highly customizable in the current form, and as of now, the creation suite will suit my every need.

I'd like to introduce to you "Seven Swords." It is a tale of Seven Swords, used by the seven lost deities of the world Baelis. As an adventurer you will be free to do as you please, explore the world, hunt for treasures, craft a mighty sword of your own, or be a politician and build a wondrous cityscape.

The following is the the world map as of now.

Enjoy.
